Conversation With Justin Halpern says
One of TFM’s most successful recent graduates, Writer, Producer, and author Justin Halpern ($#*! My Dad Says), will be on hand Wednesday, April 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the EXPERIMENTAL THEATRE to speak with students. He will discuss screenwriting, comedy, his remarkable journey to major Hollywood success, and post film school survival in Hollywood. He will also bring with him two other familiar and successful alumnus, Independent filmmaker Ron Najor, whom many of you know as Producer of the Short Term 12 and I am Not a Hipster, and cinematographer Michael Rizzi.

Since the CBS show, Justin wrote another New York Times bestseller entitled I Suck at Girls. From that book, Justin and co-writer, Patrick Schumacker, created the Fox TV comedy series, Surviving Jack for Warner Brothers TV. Justin and Patrick were the show-runners and Executive Producers of the series. The show received strong critical acclaim. Ironically, Fox, famous for cutting off series early in the game if ratings are not high, took Surviving Jack off the air just as its ratings began to surge.

Halpern and Schumacker are now show-running a new series for Warner Brothers to be announced at their talk.
