Glass Animals announced their third North American headline tour of 2017. The band’s riveting live shows have contributed to its incredible global growth, resulting in sold-out excursions throughout the U.K., Europe and Australia. Even a broken ankle couldn’t keep lead singer Dave Bayley from crowd surfing during the band’s Coachella set, cited as a festival highlight by Billboard, which praised Glass Animals’ “dynamic rendition” of “Gooey.” Reviewing the band’s recent sold-out show at London’s Brixton Academy, The Telegraph said, “To watch Glass Animals is to get sucked into a musical maelstrom: they pull you in, fill your head with opalescent oddities, then spit you out, woozy.” Glass Animals’ Spotify Live + Tumblr IRL session is out now. The EP was recorded during a one-of-a-kind Tumblr IRL event at The Village in Los Angeles, which featured not only a performance by the band, but also an immersive collaboration between Glass Animals, multimedia designer Ashten “Whoopi” Winger and Ukrainian Pixel artist Mykola “Myk” Dosenko. This collaboration brought to life the diverse group of fictional characters featured on the new album, How To Be A Human Being, which was inspired by real people the band encountered while touring over the past two years. Glass Animals have continued to bring these characters to life with interactive sites for "Life Itself,” "Youth" and “Pork Soda,” as well as a video game app for "Season 2 Episode 3." How To Be A Human Being (Harvest Records) debuted in the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 and topped the iTunes Alternative Albums chart in the U.S. and Australia. Named as one of the “10 Best Albums of 2016” by USA Today, it has racked up more than 60 million Spotify streams in the U.S. The Associated Press hailed it as “a complex, exciting tapestry of a CD which switches musical styles and reveals new things each time it's played.” Glass Animals’ new single, “Pork Soda,” recently impacted Alternative radio in the U.S., and has already amassed more than eight million streams on Spotify worldwide. NPR Music placed “Life Itself” on its list of “Songs We Love” while “Youth” appeared on their “10 Songs Public Radio Can’t Stop Playing” list. How To Be A Human Being is the follow-up to Glass Animals’ 2014 debut, ZABA, which contained the hits “Gooey” and “Black Mambo.” General admission/standing only. Just added. On sale Friday, June 16 at 10:00am.
