Transnational Seminar: Where Is The Us/Mexico Border? says
Transnational Seminar is a nomadic art studio comprised of members of Collective Magpie and students from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, Southwestern College, and UC San Diego. In light of the current US presidential administration’s electrification of the US/Mexico border, the group is conducting Experiments in Action at both the UC San Diego and MCASD Downtown campuses, interviewing and recording residents’ notion of what a border is.

Transnational Seminar is led by Collective Magpie co-founders, Tae Hwang and MR Barnadas inB partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego; SWC, Visual Arts Department; UABC, Facultad de Artes; UCSD, Visual Arts Department. Student participants include Grant Chinn, Martha Cintora, Joel Goldsmith, Valeria Ortega, Shelbie Pettiford, and Ulyses Ramos. This program is supported through a two-year grant from the James Irvine Foundation’s Exploring Engagement Fund.

This program will be held during the Museum’s free monthly program, Downtown at Sundown.
