**Program Director/Executive Director Special Birthday Comedy Double Feature**

Title: What’s Up, Doc? – selected by Michael McQuiggan
Director: Peter Bogdanovich
Description: This classic comedy joyously recaptures the bubbly style of 1930’s screwball comedies – and firmly establishes Barbra Streisand and Ryan O’Neal as a romantic duo uniquely endearing in screen history. Included are a daffy luggage mixup plot, dippy dialogue exchanges, a marvelous example of the art of hotel-room demolition and one of the funniest chase sequences ever, all over San Francisco. Dexterously written by Buck Henry, David Newman and Robert Benton and directed with giddy affection by Bogdanovich with an awesomely hilarious supporting cast (including film-debuting Madeline Kahn). One of the best comedies ever. It’s the top!

Title: Overboard – selected by Cavin Knight
Director: Garry Marshall
Description: The sparks fly between Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell in this modern day comedy classic. Married couple Joanna Stayton (Hawn) and Grant Stayton III (Edward Herrman) are an extremely wealthy, pretentious couple who live aboard their yacht. When their yacht is moored and she hires local carpenter Dean Proffitt (Russell) to do some work, Joanna has no qualms of stiffing Dean the $600 for the job when it doesn't meet what she wanted, despite she not specifying the issue to Dean beforehand. When the Staytons set sail out, Joanna falls overboard, the resulting injury which causes temporary amnesia. Grant sees this accident as his opportunity to ditch Joanna. When news of a Jane Doe (Joanna) hits the local news and Dean sees that the person he knows as Joanna's husband denies knowing her, Dean also sees an opportunity: he will claim to be her husband, and make her his housemaid - which includes her taking care of his four rambunctious sons - for about a month, which he considers the equivalent of what she owes him. Comedy hijinks ensue! With Katherine Helmond and Roddy McDowall.
