Going Pro
Five Workshop and Final Project Breakdown
By Zach Miller

Final Project: Produce a Show! In the weeks following the workshop, I will co-produce shows with the group - which will be broken into groups of no more then 5 people. Each group will be responsible for co-producing 1 show with me in the Back Room at Comedy Palace. The classes leading up will prepare the group for that project – a REAL Going Pro Experience! Maybe the good shows will get their own show in the main room!?

Class One: Intro. Everyone introduces themselves on stage, their comedy history and style. I briefly interview each and Split into groups.

Class Two: Booking and Branding. I will give an overview of how booking processes work at Clubs, Colleges, Casinos, Theatres, and your mom’s house. Both to prepare you as a comedian, and help give insight to how you should book the headliner for YOUR show! Also, we will look at the dynamic of comedy branding (shows and acts) and how they play out in the real world.

Class Three: Marketing. We will discuss different avenues for promoting both yourself and shows. From digital to print to billboard to press to networking and more!

Class Four: Comedy Finance - Where to save and where to spend. We will look at our personal and business financial decisions and how they can affect a comedy career. We will also look at how these principles come into play in your produced show.

Class Five: Hosting and lineups. No show is complete without a great host. Hosts are not just comedians, but producers. This will be a stage and production workshop as someone from each group will be hosting the FINAL produced show!
