One of San Francisco's steakhouse veterans, Harris' offers classy old-style dining, with big steaks, big martinis, and big bills at meal's end. Sink into your booth, start with a strong cocktail, then proceed with a textbook Caesar salad (put together at your table), a prime piece of carefully aged steak (from Harris' own ranch) and a baked potato with all the trimmings. Hefty desserts follow.

This is a pretty solid steakhouse in the city! I made reservations, but it turns out you don't really need any since the place itself is pretty spacious and has plenty of seating (at least it was on a Friday night I was there). They have a good selection of steaks, and have all the usual ones you would want to get - i.e. ribeye, filet mignon, prime rib etc. I usually go for ribeye, and it was pretty good! They also have great service, and great wine selection! I wouldn't say it's my favorite steakhouse, but it definitely beats Alexanders.
Harris' is one of the best steakhouses in San Francisco. I've tried a few of their steaks, and all have been cooked perfectly—juicy and moist. This is the epitome of the American steakhouse with its fantastic service, high-ceilings and plush booths. Admittedly, I feel a little intimated when I go in because its refined atmosphere can easily be mistaken as stuffiness. Do order some sides to accompany your steak. You can’t go wrong with any of them though my preference is to get some veggies. They also have a very extensive wine list, so you should be able to find something that suits your fancy.
What I think of when I think of an American steakhouse. Live jazz in the bar, steaks on display in the glass refrigerator and incredible flavors. Have never had a bad meal here, although it can be pricey.
Harris is my absolutely favorite steak house. Ambience, service, food and martinis all great n. This is my go-to celebration Spot.
