Show Description - A Necessary Sadness is a show that explores the importance of sadness and creates a space for vulnerability. The pieces in the show are inspired by the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows and there are four words used to spark contributions each month. There will be stories; fiction and non. There will be music, and poems, and video projects. This is a place where it is okay to feel something.

Featuring - The music of Aaron J. Shay.

Hosted by Danielle K.L. Gregoire

From month to month the contributors will vary. The one thing they will have in common is their willingness to explore what it means to be sad.

Producer bio - Danielle K.L. Gregoire is the producer, host and curator of A Necessary Sadness. After three years of immersion in stand up comedy, and creating the Comedy Womb she decided to turn the other side of the coin and look at the importance of sadness. She is a former spoken word poet, a member of the cast of Sarcastic Voyage and the producer of Seattle's Moth storySLAM.
