Join us for a very special expanded conversation on "Aesthetics & Politics of US-Mexico Border urban art" by Héctor Domínguez Ruvalcaba, PhD on Friday at Noon. An intial reading will occur during Pioneer Square artwalk on Thursday at 7pm. Be prepared for a fascinating exploration of queer Latin American identity, gender violence in the US-Mexico Border and insights and statistics of criminal organizations in Mexico.

Ruvalcaba received his PhD in Hispanic Literature from The University of Colorado at Boulder. He is an associate professor at the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at UT Austin where he teaches Queer Latin American Literature and Culture, Latin American Modernism and film. He is a published author in multiple languages and will read personal writings based in his study of queer Latin American identity, gender violence in the US-Mexico Border and criminal organizations in Mexico.
