Town Hall Seattle says
Since 1996, the popular Democracy Now! radio show has been updating the American public on “independent global news” often overlooked by more mainstream media. Now a popular television show and daily news website, Democracy Now! founder Amy Goodman will look back at the media outlet’s 20-year history. She’ll share stories of her favorite journalists (ones who, have been on the ground covering what no one else will cover) and speak to ongoing social justice movements in the nation. In the site’s own words, “For true democracy to work, people need easy access to independent, diverse sources of news and information”—Goodman’s in-person analysis of the state of the nation and American media will help explain why this needs be the case.

Special Q&A note: There is no audience Q&A at this event at the request of the speaker. She will answer people’s questions during the book signing that follows. Format is subject to change.
