Please join us for an evening of conversation and sharing centered on youth and elder experiences and voices.

Wednesday, 6:30pm at Rainier Community Center, 4600 38th Avenue, 98118.

In light of the LGBTQ Hate Crimes forum on March 3rd and the Mayor's LGBT Task Force to address the rise in LGBTQ hate crimes on Capitol Hill, the Intergenerational Leadership Team decided to hold a community conversation on LGBTQ public safety, centering the voices of youth and elders.

Here are questions that have come up from community activism:

What is community safety? What is unique about LGBTQ communities having a safer space or neighborhood? What does it mean for LGBTQ communities to have a sense of 'place'? Who determines what kind of LGBTQ people feel safer in a 'place'? How and who helps to create a safer 'place'? How can LGBTQ communities create a safer 'place' using a racial justice lens and connect the Black Lives Matter movement with our movement? Why is this connection important?
