About the artist:

David Lasky co-authored and drew the Eisner Award-winning graphic novel Carter Family: Don’t Forget This Song (Abrams ComicArts, 2012) and has been featured in The Best American Comics anthology three times (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2006, 2011, 2014). Recently, he self-published a zine of poems and drawings, I am from the Future (one poem written every day throughout the month of April 2016). Currently, his comic – “2001: A Seattle Odyssey: A Forgotten Chapter in the Artistic History of the City” – appears as the epilogue of the June 2016 issue of CityArts magazine. In addition, earlier this year, he exhibited his pen and ink drawings in a group show of cartoonists at the Dendroica Gallery on Capitol Hill. He is also a frequent contributor to Seattle’s own underground comics newspaper, The Intruder. Meanwhile, David teaches comics classes in Seattle at the Richard Hugo House and at Coyote Central.
