Led by acclaimed music director Christophe Chagnard, Lake Union Civic Orchestra is a Seattle-based community orchestra known for its exciting, innovative programming. The orchestra’s spring concert features the world premiere of “Shadow Dances” by American composer Eric Guinivan, whose work was first performed by LUCO many years ago; the piece was commissioned to commemorate LUCO’s 20th anniversary season. The evening also features Arturo Marquez’s “Danzon No.2,” featuring LUCO’s new assistant conductor Stefan Jones; Beethoven’s “Piano Concerto No. 5” with pianist Angelo Rondello; and the world premiere of Washington State University student Ka Yat Ngai’s “The Glory Fanfare.”
