Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) says
Join us on the 3rd Thursday of the month at the MOHAI Cafe for a lively discussion about history. Each cafe features a different topic, and invites history enthusiasts to come together and share what you know. Grab a cup of coffee - or glass of wine - and enjoy learning about the past! History Cafe is co-presented by MOHAI, The Seattle Public Library, and HistoryLink.org.

Dr. Daudi Abe will speak about the Seattle Hip-Hop community, from our champion break dance crew, to highly collaborative and diverse performers and DJs, to an internationally read hip-hop magazine. Seattle hip-hop also tells the story of society, incorporating events such as the crack epidemic of the mid 1980s, the gentrification of the Central District, Initiative 502, the rise of the East African and Asian/Pacific Islander immigrant populations, the Teen Dance Ordinance and Referendum 74 have into the local hip-hop discourse.
