Paige Lawrence Tribal Fusion Workshop says

Tribal Fusion Workshop Description:
This class is my personal mixture of the traditional San Francisco tribal fusion class format. We will begin with a short yoga and conditioning practice to get those muscles warmed up. We will drill some fundamental movements for the arms, chest, hips, abs and feet with an emphasis on smoothness and control. Then we will work on a short choreography and drill it like a million times! Lastly, I am not 20; we will close with a nice ....gentle down.

What to bring: basic comfortable dance attire, hip scarf, water, notebook and if you wish a yoga mat for floor work.

Paige Lawrence discovered belly dance in the late nineties watching John Compton and the immortal Habhi Ru Dance Co. He attended over a hundred fifty Habhi performances and ever after held a lifelong love of Middle Eastern music and dance. Years later he discovered Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes and the world of Tribal Fusion right in his own hometown of San Francisco. He started studying in 2007 and performing in 2008. His instructor lineage includes Keri Langwell, Ariellah, Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Amy Sigil and the Mother of American belly dance Jamila Salimpour. In the last two years Paige joined troupe Arcana directed by Zoe Jakes and Danielle Elizabeth of the Datura project. He is also the director of The Uru Tribe which features 10 male belly dancers.
