Elliott Bay Book Company says
We promised last fall that we’d see more of HistoryLink staff historian Paula Becker, whose book, Looking for Betty MacDonald: The Egg, the Plague, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, and I (University of Washington Press), has delighted both Betty fans and those interested in Northwest history. Paula Becker is joined today by Jill Andrews (Betty MacDonald’s family friend and daughter of Much Laughter, A Few Tears author Blanche Caffiere), Abigail Carter (owner of Betty’s Vashon Island home), and Katy McCoy (owner of Betty’s Chimacum property). We’ll share stories and discuss Betty MacDonald’s life, work, and places. University of Washington Press has also published three long out-of-print memoirs by Betty Macdonald, and if your awareness of this Northwest icon is limited to The Egg and I and Mrs. Pigglewiggle, you’ll want to check out Anybody Can Do Anything, the Plague and I and Onions in the Stew (set in what is now Abigail Carter’s house).
