Refugees On The Rise: An International Crisis says
According to the U.N. Refugee Agency, the number of people forcibly displaced at the end of 2014 had risen to a staggering 59.5 million compared to 51.2 million a year earlier and 37.5 million a decade ago. Globally, one in every 122 humans is now either a refugee, internally displaced, or seeking asylum, creating one of the most daunting humanitarian crises in decades.

Together, the American Red Cross, Muslim Community Resource Center, and Refugee Women's Alliance welcome you to celebrate, engage with, and learn from our diverse talented refugee community members. KUOW reporter Liz Jones will serve as emcee as speakers share their inspirational stories of perseverance.

This event is free and open to the public. It will be followed by a reception with local support agencies.
