Town Hall Seattle says
Pulitzer Prize-winner Geraldine Brooks loves playing with the bounds of the imagination and reality–and her work shows it. Her most recent novel Caleb’s Crossing (2011) is a prime example of her prowess in historical fiction. Set against the backdrop of Martha’s vineyard in the 1660s, Caleb’s Crossing is a depiction of old-world-meets-new and how the clashing of cultures often has some unexpected results. Brooks (March, The Secret Chord) will share why she loves historical fiction, read some favorite passages from her works, and give insight into her creative process.
