Seattle Festival Orchestra: Brahms And Shostakovich says
The fall Seattle Festival Orchestra performance features Johannes Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 15 (completed in 1858) and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 12 in D Minor, Op. 112, also known as “The Year of 1917.” This treasured local orchestra, under the musical direction of Wesley Schulz, fosters performance and music education by including young performers as soloists and orchestral players at its concerts each season. Continuing this tradition, this program’s featured soloist is pianist Angelo Rondello.
