Town Hall Seattle says
Anthony Trollope — “still the novelist of the way we live now” (The New Yorker) — is now known as one of the most-read English fiction writers. For this edition of Short Stories Live, local actors will read his popular stories “Mary Gresley” and the humorous “Mrs. Brumby,” about an untalented, nightmare author harassing her editor. Better yet, a short preamble to both pieces has been pulled from author Fanny Trollope’s (his mother) Domestic Manners of the Americans. Curated by ACT Artistic Director’s Kurt Beattie, this afternoon will offer a greater appreciation for two of England’s greatest authors–and prove that good writing runs in the family.
