Social Entrepreneurship As A New Model For Purpose And Profit says
Join the World Affairs Council on November 18th for a discussion on the trends of global social entrepreneurship in both for-profit corporations and non-profit organizations. From major companies practicing corporate social responsibility to social enterprises founded on principles of generating social value, social entrepreneurship is at the center of offices across the U.S. and the world.

Our conversation will feature Buddy Teaster, President & CEO of Soles4Souls, a not for profit global social enterprise committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing. Since 2006, Soles4Souls has collected and distributed 26 million pairs of new shoes to those in need in 127 countries and all 50 U.S. states, leading to positive effects in the areas of education and health in particular. In addition, Soles4Souls recycles shoes and clothing otherwise destined for a landfill, and provides these textiles to entrepreneurs in a micro-enterprise model. Our moderator for this event is Josh Chaitin, Senior Vice President of Business & Social Purpose at Edelman. Josh assists clients in achieving their business goals while creating positive environmental and social change.

This event is part of the 2015-2016 Community Programs Policy & Thought Leaders Series
