Do you love Star Trek? EMP Museum and The Seattle Public Library are joining forces for a weekend celebrating Star Trek’s 50th anniversary.

Join us at the Central Library for two days of Star Trek love featuring live performances, films and interviews with EMP.
Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded to best costumes.

Saturday line up:

12:00: HELLO EARTH'S OUTDOOR TREK: Live action reinterpretations of Star Trek episode scenes
Local performance troupe Hello Earth production’s Outdoor Trek led by producers Joy DeLyria and Kris “Pepper”Hambrick will perform live-action reinterpretations of scenes from the Star Trek episode “Space Seed.”

1:00: STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME film screening
(1986), directed by Leonard Nimoy

Admiral Kirk (William Shatner), McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Scott (James Doohan), Sulu (George Takei), Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), and Chekhov (Walter Koenig) are marooned in self-imposed exile on Vulcan, along with the resurrected and regenerated Spock (Leonard Nimoy, who also directed). While Spock tries to sort out the Vulcan and human halves of his resurrected psyche, the others prepare to return to Earth to face a brace of charges by the Klingon Empire and Star Fleet over events on Genesis. 3:00: Panel discussion moderated by Brooks Peck, and featuring Jeff Ayers, Astrid Bear, Greg Bear, Joy DeLyria and Linda Deneroff on Star Trek’s cultural significance and why its legacy continues.
