Love Stranger Things and all those great 1980’s movies that inspired it? Join us for three double-feature matinees celebrating those mid-80’s classics that inspired this Summer’s smash-hit Netflix show. This weekend we re-enter the wonder and terror of childhood with Stand By Me and The Goonies.

Based on the Stephen King short story “The Body,” Stand By Me is an unforgettable coming-of-age adventure about four misfit kids’ search for the body of a missing boy, and their struggle against a gang of bullies. Starring River Phoenix, Wil Wheaton, Corey Feldman and Kiefer Sutherland, Stand By Me won Golden Globe Awards for Best Picture and Best Director (Rob Reiner). The film received an R rating for frequent profanity. Threatened with eviction, the young band of misfits in The Goonies struggle against a band of criminals to uncover hidden treasure. Filmed in Astoria, Oregon, the film featured Martha Plimpton, Josh Brolin and Corey Feldman and has developed a cult following.
