Time Out says

Celebrate Valentines early, bring a date or meet the love of your undeath. Brought to you by Spooked in Seattle, DJ Coldheart, and Aten. Join us for this evening of romance, nostalgia, and horror! From DJ Coldheart's collection of silent films, we will be playing a rare 1928 classic by German Expressionist filmmaker Paul Leni, starring silent era greats Mary Philbin (from Phantom of the Opera) as the blind Dea and Conrad Veidt as Gwynplaine. "The Man Who Laughs" is a romantic melodrama, but so steeped in Expressionist gloom that it plays like a horror film, with Veidt playing a disfigured revenge victim who finds shelter in a traveling freakshow and a romance with the one person who cannot be repulsed by his appearance--but the hands of fate draws Gwynplaine back into the world of political intrique. In addition to our feature film, we will be screening a romantic comedy from one of the masters of silent-era comedy, Harold Lloyd, the 1920 short "Haunted Spooks." DJ Coldheart will give us a short presentation which highlights trivia about the films, actors, and playing music before and after the screening. Costume encouraged (but not required) Dress up as your favorite eternal horror classic lovers, vampires, ghouls, ghosts, zombies or even Gomez and Morticia Addams. There will be prizes for the best costumes!. It's Friday the 13th so remember, it would be bad luck to miss this unique event! Seating is limited, so get your tickets now to avoid disappointment! http://spookedevents.wix.com/spookedevents#!SilentMovieExtravaganza/c21xd
