Self massage is an empowering and effective tool that decreases tension and increases circulation. Aromatherapy soothes the limbic brain (the most ancient and primitive part of the brain associated with emotion). Yoga Nidra is a systematic process of deepening relaxation, an internal, meditative yoga that happens while your body is completely still. It is said that one hour of Yoga Nidra is more restful than 4 hours of normal sleep! When we remove stressors, the body relaxes and the immune system functions more efficiently. Vitality and vibrant health are restored. We have more energy to do the things we want to do! Another key element of this practice is the combination of relaxation with Sankalpa. A Sankalpa is a positive statement or intention that invites us to transform our lives, our very beings, as we look inside and ask ourselves the question “what does my heart desire?” This is such an important question to ask, and to ask often.
