Modigliani: Legend of Montparnasse

Before Modigliani became a painter, the artist worked under the guidance of Brâncuși to make sculptures. Most of Brâncuși’s works are defined by a lean, vertical element, and his influences are distinctly visible in Modigliani’s painted figures. Taken from the collections of 20 museums across the globe including the Museum of Modern Art City of Paris and the Israel Museum, this retrospective on Modigliani is held for the first time in Seoul. Jun 26–Oct 4.
