The Gonggan stage theater located inside Arario Museum in Space will have a special screening of Daniel Steegmann Mangrané’s film ‘Spiral Forest (kingdom of all the animals and all the beasts is my name).’ As part of the ‘Where text is broken by a building’ exhibition, this program reveals the study of artistic and spatial aesthetics completed by 3 European contemporary artists: Liam Gillic, Dominique Gonzalez Foerster and Daniel Steegmann Mangrané’s. Showcased through a 16mm projector, Spiral Forest transforms the basement space of the museum into a familiar yet somehow unfamiliar place, with film, pieces created with chains and 2 dimensional art incorporating both geometric patterns and organic patterns. Shot with a camera gimbal, the stems, leaves and bushes of Brazil’s Mata Atlantica terrestrial biome constantly reflects the audience in complex forms.
