The full scoop on equestrian clubs in the Seoul area.

Whether horseback riding was your favorite childhood pastime or you’ve just discovered Black Beauty, check out these equestrian clubs where you can go orseback riding. One can choose to sign up for a one-time trial or a 10-lesson package (valid for three months). Group lessons are also available.

The Royal Saddle Equestrian Club

The Royal Saddle Equestrian Club located in Ilsan is only 30 minutes away from Seoul. Although a short car ride away, it’s an entirely different world as a serene forest that blocks out all the noises of the city envelops the club. This luxurious equestrian club boasts picturesque European style riding grounds with soft sandstone floors. In addition, the coaching team includes an Asian Games gold medalist and other elite professionals-turned-instructors. You may also recognize the club from Psy’s “Gangnam Style” music video.

This equestrian park is a 20 minute drive from the Gangnam area and is located next to the Misari Regetta. Take 1:1 lessons from the expert coaches in their outdoor or indoor riding facilities.

Deokso Equestrian Club
  • Things to do
The Deokso Equestrian Club is a small, cozy club. Once you are inside the red-bricked clubhouse you’ll notice the antique interior décor and thoughtfully considered details. But perhaps the biggest advantage of this clubhouse is its expansive windows that look out onto the indoor riding grounds. Watch yourfriends during their lessons or if you’re lucky, sneak a peak of former national team member and club owner Song Myung-kun’s riding skills. The riding and lesson coupons have to be purchased separately.

Having opened in 1995, the Singal Equestrian Club is one of the oldest in Korea. The club has large and medium outdoor riding grounds as well as indoor grounds for any kind of weather. There are about 70 horses in the tables and six experienced coaches. The club organizes outdoor riding trips to local beaches and even to Mongolia every once in a while, which you can apply for on their website. At this club, you can also see horses that have been featured in Korean historical dramas and you might even see actor Song Il-gook, who trains here. Lessons are 50 minutes long.
