Time Out says

Ota Fine Arts Singapore is bringing five brilliant artists together in its latest group exhibition: Chen Wei, Maria Farrar, Hilmi Johandi, Zai Kuning and Guo-Liang Tan. Each artist has made a name for themselves. The exhibition feature artworks in different mediums ranging from photography to sculpture, drawing and painting, reflecting the diversity of expressions of contemporary art in Asia today. The exhibition presents the encounters of the artists' which have become important elements in their practice.

Spiral Party by Beijing-based artist Chen Wei depicts a structure that appears to be a staircase of an unfinished building. As an artist living in Chima, he continues to observe the rapidly changing landscapes in the country, and his art-making is influenced by his findings. London-based artist Maria Farrar, on the other hand, has works that depict everyday scenes on the street or in domestic spaces; while Guo-Liang Tan's abstract paintings presented in this show feature a new technique that uses synthetic textiles to create mono-printed impressions.

Regarded as one of the pioneer multidisciplinary artists in Singapore, Zai Kuning presents two drawings that reflect his exploration of people in relation to their environment, particularly the sea.

Last but definitely not least, those familiar with Hilmi Johandi's works will recognise Landscapes & Paradise VII (Poolscapes no.2), which depicts a figure sitting under the traveller's tree at the poolside. In this exhibition, Hilmi finds inspiration in the archival materials of Singapore such as postcards and posters from the 80s to the 90s. He extracts motifs from these images and reconstructs different elements into a scene in his paintings.

This is a rare chance to see works by all five groundbreaking artists under one roof – so make your way down to Ota Fine Arts Singapore.
