Contemporary Indonesian artists Andy Dewantoro, Aditya Novali and Yudi Sulistyo feature in Pearl Lam Galleries’ newest group exhibition, PLUGGED, which explores the discourse on our relationship with nature, technology, and the people around us. Sulistyo’s 4-metre airplane installation and models of damaged militaristic vehicles reduces these objects to things of beauty, not destruction; Novali’s THE WALL: Asian (Un)Real Estate Project – The Abstraction questions the motivations behind real estate projects in Indonesia using shadow play; and Dewantoro incorporates bright colours in his works that reflect his utopic visions of urban landscapes.
