Film buffs, this one's for you. Switch up those Netflix and chill nights with 35 award-winning features, short films and dialogues that highlight the common thread of presenting new and sometimes radical human perspectives in these shifting times – and you can watch 'em for free.
Presented by The Nippon Foundation, the second edition of True Colors Film Festival opens on December 3, which also marks International Day of Persons with Disability. It features films including Feeling Through (2019), the world's first film featuring a DeafBlind actor and Best Summer Ever (2020), the first Screen Actors Guild-registered musical to feature a fully-inclusive cast and crew.
There'll also be a bonus program exclusively for audiences in Japan and Singapore with three-time Oscar-winning film Nomadland (2020) and animated film Zootopia (2016).
Audiences from all around the world can also mingle with like-minded folks during the dialogues, which brings together film directors, actors, advocates and hosts to have honest discussions about the issues spotlighted in their films. Hear first-hand from directors Doug Roland (Feeling Through); Tunku Mona Riza (REDHA) who chats with actor and educator, Aidli Mosbit; Amanda Lukoff (THE R-WORD) who chats with sibling and self-advocates, Tasneem Majeed and Allan Cai; and photographer Rick Guidotti – whose work is the subject of the film ON BEAUTY – who chats with actor and host Oon Shu An.
