Turn on your telly on June 1 at 7.30pm as a 15-minute post-circuit breaker special will be broadcasted across MeWatch, Channel 5, Channel 8, Channel U, Suria, and Vasantham, as well as Mediacorp's Facebook and YouTube channels. Titled Stronger As One, the show brings together inspirational individuals impacted by the global issue, as well as pop powerhouse Joanna Dong and the Singapore Symphony Choruses to keep Singaporeans in good spirits and rally them for the long road to recovery. After all, we're stronger as one.
Supported by Gov.sg, the show spotlights the experiences faced by everyday heroes who have overcome – and still doing so – the challenges presented during these difficult times. These stories include those as told by Melvin Chew who founded the #HawkersUnited community initiative, migrant worker Subramaniam Pugalandi who survived the bad bug, and police officer Nur Sakinah who is assigned to safeguard government quarantine facilities and also happens to be one of four front-liners in her family.
The show then culminates with a poignant rendition of We Will Get There by Joanna Dong and the Singapore Symphony Choruses, with instrumentals by string musicians from the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and pianist Gabriel Ho. Flex your vocal chops and sing along as the iconic song acts as a call to arms for all Singaporeans to stand in solidarity amidst adversity.
