In celebration of Singapore's golden jubilee, Mod-Local Fest 2015 presents new ways of creating local dishes. Favourites like the Hainanese chicken rice, laksa, satay, chendol and pulut hitam will be given a modern twist (available from Jul 17-Aug 2).
The festival will be launched with the Mod-Local Noir gala dinner ($50/person) featuring the cuisine of Bistro Soori's Jimmy Chok, which will be held on 17 & 18 July. Expect a ten-course tasting menu comprising chicken rice sushi rolls, pork wanton in bak kut teh bisque and pulut hitam crème brulee.
Chinatown Food Street's Mod-Local Fest 2015 is organised as part of the Singapore Food Festival 2015.
