The chefs of the kitchen table at W Singapore – Sentosa Cove have been diligently practising and perfecting recipes of popular local delicacies like chilli crab and satay, as well as Peranakan dishes that they’re rolling out for two grand fiestas.

We are what we eat

To fete National Day, the kitchen table presents the Lion Remix Sunday Brunch ($48-$68/children four to 12; $128/adults). It serves a dizzying array of the Lion City’s most famous treats – as much of them as you can eat – on the Sunday before National Day. This sumptuous ode to probably the most gastronomically diverse city in the world includes delights like popiah, rojak, and the kitchen table’s take on chai tow kway: with lots of XO sauce.

Top up $40 for an endless supply of champagne, cocktails and wine. All brunch-goers also enjoy free access to W Singapore’s iconic Endless Summer pool party, happening at the WET Deck from 2 to 8pm.

Lion Remix Sunday Brunch is at W Singapore – Sentosa Cove, Aug 6. 12.30-3pm. Book your slot from now to receive a 20% discount.

Crossroads Cuisine

Fans of local fare will be ecstatic to know that the kitchen table also offers a special Peranakan menu this month, from August 21 to 31, in a feast coined Pera-makan ($68/person). If you happen to have a weakness for ayam tempra (braised chicken with onions, pepper, black soya sauce and a touch of lime), babi assam (braised pork cheeks in tamarind sauce) or sambal udang petai (prawns cooked with chilli paste and bitter beans), or even if you have yet to try these flavourful cross-cultural classics, the kitchen table’s captivating iterations of the Straits Chinese’s most sought-after creations are guaranteed to hit the spot. Like any good Peranakan meal, this authentic feast is wrapped up on a sweet note with a plethora of steamed, boiled or baked kueh and other desserts.

Pera-makan is at W Singapore – Sentosa Cove, Aug 21-31. Mon-Thu 6-10pm.
