After the events of 2020, let the woodwind and brass ensemble of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) soothe you into a better 2021 (hopefully) with a live performance at the Esplanade Concert Hall. Set to take place on January 16, As the Winds Blow features an all-wind programme that will sweep you off your feet – or at least, your seat.

Whet your classical music appetites with songs from across the ages. From From Byrd to Bruckner, there’s something for everyone to unwind to. Expect witty Hindemith, magical Mozart, seafaring shanties with Arnold, all-trombone Brucknerian solemnity and the brass sextet by underrated German trumpeter-composer Oskar Böhme to fill the Esplanade Concert Hall along with the Renaissance splendour of Gabrieli and Byrd.

Look forward to the SSO's grand renditions of Hindemith's Kleine Kammermusik, Arnold's Three Shanties for Wind Quintet, Bruckner's Christus Factus Est, Böhme's Sextet, Mozart's The Magic Flute Overture, and music by Gabrieli and Byrd.

Nothing beats rounding off your Saturday evening with a celebration of the best in classical music with SSO's woodwind and brass ensemble. Tickets are available online, starting from $28. For more information, visit sso.org.sg.
