Chin Lee Restaurant

There's no shortage of good food in the East, but Chin Lee Restaurant manages to stand out. Located at the base of a HDB block in Bedok, Chin Lee makes for a satisfying meal in a laidback setting. Classic Teochew dishes make up the bulk of the menu – try their homemade fried prawn ball called Hei Zhou ($12), homemade beancurd with shimeji mushrooms ($15), and sinful char-roasted suckling pig ($190) if you're feeling in the mood to indulge. The orh nee ($6.40) is also a delight, as it's creamy and rich while somehow remaining light on the palate.
