Playful spins on Asian noodle dishes dominate the menu at Chow Fun – its name is a tongue-in-cheek reference to Chinese cuisine sold in America, where Singaporean chef and owner Alicia Lin resided for 20 years of her life. Red lanterns hang from the ceiling as you slurp on gochujang-spiced rice noodles under a bed of pork belly ($15.90) and udon cooked in tom yum paste with sautéed mushrooms and crunchy chicken skin ($15.90). Opt for smaller plates at $2.90 a piece to sample the lot of over 18 noodle dishes. Pair them with a tall glass of Erdinger ($12) on tap, amongst other alcoholic brews. Then share a platter of desserts ($22.90/choice of five) or dine à la carte on slices of green tea cheese cake ($7.90) and nostalgic bowls of housemade tang yuan ($6.90).
