Gillman Barrack's Art After Dark series is a full-on dancefloor bash, with cutting-edge DJs spinning amid artwork. This time, bring out the party poppers and celebrate its seventh anniversary on September 20 with everything from a plethora of live performances to interactive art experiences that both old and new fans of the signature house event can enjoy.
Come sunset, catch an interactive outdoor theatre performance featuring a 4.5-metre-tall puppet by The Rubbish Prince, explore the rich mythology of the Philippines through a collection of works by Filipino artist Rodel Tapaya at the SAM Mini Mobile Museum (Singapore Art Museum's travelling art exhibition), and embark on a digital adventure at Eaten: A Capsule Museum for Future Possible Past Beings. Bringing the tunes to the art playground are funk-reggae band MMLD, jazz sextet D'Jantan Djogets, and experimental music producer Fauxe. Helming the decks for the night is the eclectic and groovy DJ Itch.
Resident galleries are also extending their hours for art lovers to chin-stroke their way through displays of contemporary art by local, regional and international artists. And if you're looking to get creative, head over to Playeum for some doodling, painting, and coding lighted balls. Get those creative juices flowing at Art After Dark.
