Time Out says

Celebrate Chinese New Year at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay during Huayi. Back in 2020 with an exciting line-up of theatre, dance and music programmes, the festival highlights the wit, imagination, and curiosity of leading Chinese artists from Singapore and beyond.

Look forward to key programmes including Toy Factory's 30th-anniversary work on the historical Seven Sages, starring Nelson Chia and Sharon Au. Called 7 Sages of the Bamboo Grove, the new work traces the artists' tireless and relentless search for the elusive bamboo grove. Also, don't miss The Long Goodbye, a heartwarming tearjerker that explores the relationship between a father with dementia and his caregiver son. The stage production is adapted from Taiwanese writer Luo Yijun's heartwarming essay collection My Little Boys

If you're a music fan, catch a brand-new showcase by R&B singer David Tao or experience classic films like never before at Unspoken Melodies, which showcases original scores performed by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) – paired with a screening of classic silent films. Qiao Yang, 55-year-old pioneer in contemporary dance, is also presenting a powerful solo piece that chronicles her dance journey in Almost 55.

There's so much more to experience at Huayi 2020, so make plans ahead of time and book your tickets now.
