Housing several exhibitions based around the theme of the Maritime Silk Road, this steel-and-glass museum features the ‘Jewel of Muscat’ – a replica of a 9th-century Arab dhow given by the sultanate of Oman – permanently moored on site. One attraction not for the seasick is the Typhoon Theatre – a 150- seat, 360-degree multimedia experience in which visitors board a stormencountering ship bound for Arabia.
