2016 Compton Heights Compton Hill House Tour says
Two of St. Louis' finest historic neighborhoods, Compton Heights and Compton Hill -- long celebrated for gorgeous turn-of-the-century architecture -- will host a house tour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22.

The public is invited to tour 10 gracious homes built between 1894 and 1913 with original stained-glass windows and intricate woodwork, staircases and elegant features. The tour is scheduled to include the first floor and basement bowling alley of the famed Magic Chef Mansion, a stunning showplace home and the crown jewel of the area. A biergarten with cold drinks and light refreshments is planned on the Magic Chef Mansion grounds.

Advance tickets with a discounted rate for $20 each may be purchased at 2016housetour.brownpapertickets.com, if purchased before 5 p.m. on May 20.

Tour tickets may be purchased the days of the tour --May 21 and 22-- for $25 each at the Tour Entrance, 3400 Russell Blvd. Children under 4 are free.

Tour-goers may walk, drive or use trams available at no charge throughout the tour.

These neighborhoods haven’t had a house tour in four years, and several homes have never before been on tour.
