International Peace Day Panel: Partnerships For Peace   Dignity For All

Veterans For Peace says
Veterans For Peace is putting together a panel discussion to be held on September 21st - International Peace Day. The panel will be held at the Schlafly Branch Library [225 N. Euclid].

Before the panel, at 5pm, we will meet at the Peace Pole, located outside of Rosati-Kain [4389 Lindell Blvd] for a short demonstration and some spoken word by Marcellus the Ferguson Poet.

The panel will be called "Partnerships For Peace - Dignity For All" which is the UN theme this year. The panel will address ways the traditional anti-war/peace groups and domestic issues oriented organizations may partner to work for peace and ensure everyone's dignity as global citizens is recognized.

Speakers Include:
José Alfredo Chávez (Freddie) from Latinos En Axion STL
Nabeehah Azeez from Missourians Organizing for Reform and
Empowerment (MORE)
Faizan Syed from CAIR-STL
Tara Tee from Hands Up United

Woody Powell, Korean War Veteran and former Executive Director of Veterans For Peace will moderate the panel.
