I asked Joe:
"What is the the story of King Rabbit?"

Neaf replies:
"I wonder that myself!"

Then he tell me this:
"There he is (King Rabbit), so timid in his little crown.... Does it matter more what the King thinks of us or what we think of him?
<Joe grins>
It's a shame that if approached he scampers off. Everyone wants to take his crown."

I say... "Tell me more.."

"These prints (mono prints) depict King Rabbit "a timid leader" along with icons and other fictional characters that represent facets of hierarchy.
It's a little heavy, so I made sure to include some flowers to lighten the mood. After all, King Rabbit was quite fond of them."

Neaf goes on to say:
"I have other images of more incongruous scenes; a Victory that leaves nothing won but ashes; Justice thwarted and lashing out for vengeance; Liberty wallowing in excess.
Through these depictions, I hint at a note of caution in that what we wish for may be the shadow side of our ideals."
