Time Out says
On Saturday, March 14th from 7 to 9pm, Chicago-based artist collective Lucky Pierre will present Final Meals, a community-based dinner, performance, and video installation, at Black Bear Bakery as a part of the Counterpublic exhibition at The Luminary.
For the ongoing project, each final meal requested by Texas death row inmates and published online by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice since 1982 is to be prepared, consumed, and filmed. To date, Lucky Pierre has re-created 197 of the 310 final meals published by the State of Texas.
On Saturday, March 14th from 7 to 9pm, we will gather to share a communal 'final' meal at the collectively owned Black Bear Bakery to experience the starkly strong and quietly contemplative meditation on the physical body, our collective social body, and the mechanisms of state power and responsibility.
RSVP at info@theluminaryarts.com to join us for this singular meal and performance by Lucky Pierre. The dinner is free and seating is limited to 50 people.
