Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis says
Be a part of the art!

As part of the group exhibition Occupational Therapy—on view at CAM May 1 through August 16, 2015—Sanatorium is a living artwork by Mexican artist Pedro Reyes that explores art and psychology. This transient clinic provides short “therapies,” using a combination of ritual, play, and experimentation, by volunteer “therapists” who are trained through a program designed by the artist. CAM’s presentation marks the Midwestern premiere of Sanatorium.

There are three training sessions open to volunteers:

Sunday, April 26, 1:00–4:00 pm
Tuesday, April 28, 6:00–9:00 pm
Wednesday, May 6, 6:00–9:00 pm

Register for training sessions and learn more about volunteer requirements at camstl.org/sanatorium

Throughout the run of the exhibition (May 1–August 16, 2015), volunteer therapists will greet visitors and facilitate activities designed by the artist. After the show closes in August, volunteers will be invited to a special thank-you celebration. The person who contributes the most hours will win a spa treatment, and everyone logging at least forty hours will be entered to win exhibition-themed prizes.
