In this world, being a good performer is not enough. You need tools to help you stand out to producers. Want to get booked more on the local, regional, and national level? Mimi Le Yu and Carrie Meyer of Insomniac Studios are here to help you reach your performance goals. During this workshop, students will learn the tools of the trade for marketing themselves to audiences and producers alike. Discussions will cover topics related to the business of performance including how you perform both on and off stage, communicating with producers, headshots, video, and social media profiles, and much more! We will also discuss the ins, outs, and expectations once you are booked for a show. To end our workshop, students will participate in a mini-photoshoot with Carrie and will receive one hi res photo for promotional materials. Workshop to start at 1 pm, shoots end by 5 pm. Cost $35 The workshop session will be limited to *14* participants. To ensure your slot, you MUST pre-pay. To register, please contact Carrie Meyer at: carrie@insomniacstudios.net. Carrie will take care of getting you registered and payment made to the correct Paypal account. Workshop will be held at Art Bar, 2732 Cherokee. Parking is available on the street, meters are free on Sunday. Come prepared as possible for your shoot after the lecture! There is a small dressing room if you need to slip something on. Each attendee will get a 10 minute mini session with Carrie - one costume/outfit ONLY. All photos taken during the session will be three quarter or head only to maximize use for promotional purposes. Attendees will be able to select one shot from the session that will be touched-up and finished (blemishes removed, skin tone corrected, etc.). The high-resolution released image will be suitable for posters, business cards, and advertising, as well as web-posting. Attendees can purchase additional files at $15 each if they so choose.
