American director Cutter Hodierne’s film, competing in the festival’s fiction category, is set in the world of Somali pirates and tells the story of a young fisherman who willingly joins the gang, and a French sailor held hostage by them. Shot in East Africa using mainly non-professional actors, this film is a powerful thriller that garnered acclaimed at last year’s Sundance Film Festival in the US. This is the Swiss premiere of the film, which is told in Somali, English and French with French subtitles
