JazzOnze+

This much-respected annual jazz festival takes over five days at the Casino de Montbenon. For its 28th edition, the festival looks at the roots of jazz and its influence on other musical styles, from jazz soul to gospel to big band and more. Guests from French-speaking Switzerland and beyond include singer China Moses, saxophonist Joe Lovano, virtuoso trumpet player Christian Scott and the Big Band de la Suisse Romande. In addition to ticketed performances there are free concerts in the Espace Jazz each night. And as usual, students from Lausanne’s music school Hemu will kick off proceedings in the early evening, allowing audiences a glimpse of local talents of the future.
