Time Out says

A fun day out exploring the vital work of Geneva's fire service.

Bring the kids to this open day hosted by the SIS (Service d’incendie et de secours) to find out more about the activities of Geneva’s emergency services – the firemen and women, paramedics and telephone operators who respond to our emergency calls.

On offer are tours around the station, demonstrations of the service's work, workshops on first aid (learn CPR and the Heimlich manoeuvre), a chance to look inside a fire truck, plus various information stands.

Demonstrations will also be held around town including the Paquis, Bains and Saint-Jean districts.

The event, which ties in with the service's 175th anniversary celebrations, should all make for a fun and informative introduction to the work of these vital service personnel for both adults and kids.
