Australian Centre for Photography

Impressive local and international photography and new media are exhibited here

Founded in 1974, ACP is one of the longest-running contemporary art spaces in Australia, and a key proponent of the art form and professional practice of photography through exhibitions, publications, courses and workshops, events and public programs. ACP was the first to draw together major retrospectives of important Australian artists Max Dupain, Olive Cotton and Merv Bishop, and were early proponents of key contemporary artists such as Bill Henson, Tracey Moffatt, William Yang and Trent Parke.
ACP's seasonal programming (Winter/Summer/Spring/Autumn) shows two to three exhibitions concurrently, from emerging and local to established and international artists. They also hold student exhibitions quarterly, and run courses throughout the year.
Their flagship publication, the journal Photofile, is published biannually.
