Time Out says

It’s going to be a Tarantino takeover

Cheeky Surry Hills speakeasy the Soda Factory is turning five, and they’re inviting Sydney to an epic night of live music, DJs, special performers and late-night eats – all without a cover charge. The dress code is Tarantino – there’s a $100 bar tab for the punter wearing the most dedicated threads – and guests arriving before 9pm will receive a complimentary cocktail. (You had our curiosity, now you have our attention...)

If you don’t catch any of the free canapés earlier in the evening, you can line your stomach with bloody burgers and five-dollar shakes from their special Pulp Kitchen menu till late. Roller girls and John Travolta and Uma Thurman dancers will keep the party going in between live sets, dinner and the burlesque performance – think cropped black bob, oversized white shirt and adrenaline syringe. Then at 10pm, Furnace and the Fundamentals will play all your favourite tracks from Beyoncé to the Beatles and everything in between.

It already sounds like too much to fit into four hours of celebration, but in classic Soda Factory style, they’re keeping a few surprises up their sleeve. You’ll just have to come wish them a happy birthday to find out what else is in store.
